Examples of Factorial Graphs

The eight graphs below show the possible outcomes for a 2x2 factorial experiment. These graphs show significant and nonsignificant main effects and a significant or nonsignificant interaction.

As a review for the final exam, you should be able to look at any graph and interpret the main effects and interactions (i.e., say which ones are likely to be significant). You should also be able to generate the factorial table for each of these outcomes by drawing the 2x2 table and filling it in with some hypothetical data.

Now, on to the graphs.
